NBA Week 26: Thursday Betting Tips

    September 1, 2020

The playoffs keep getting interesting and we have seen some teams progress to the next round. Although play was disrupted last week due to some protest, the players have gone back to the court and the league has proceeded as normal.

Betting on games this week would be simpler because we have fewer teams playing matches per day, as 4 teams of the Eastern Conference have progressed on to Round 2 of the Playoffs, with teams from the Western Conference still battling it out. Let us look at some betting tips for the day.

The only game we have on Thursday is Toronto Raptors vs. Boston Celtics at Round 2 of the playoffs. The Celtics already lead the series after beating the Raptors 112-94 on Sunday.

Sunday’s game showed that the Celtics played better, which allowed them to win. Interestingly, this is the first time both teams are meeting at the Playoffs. They played a game earlier in August and the Raptors lost to Celtics by a similar margin. One can expect the Celtics to have a breeze by defeating the Raptors in all their Round 2 games. Also, the Celtics have always maintained a score of over 100 points.

The Raptors did not look play like themselves on Sunday. They hit just 37 per cent of their shots and went 10-of-40 from three-point range. Toronto’s best player in the first-round series sweep of Brooklyn was VanVleet. He hit 3-for-16, while Pascal Siakam, who went 5-for-16, struggled with his jumper throughout the game.
