Lewis Hamilton looks forward to surpassing Michael Schumacher

    November 10, 2020

Seven-time grand F1 winner, Lewis Hamilton has said he was never into car racing because he was told to be there.

The British have been known for his boldness whenever he expresses himself. When there were Black Matters protests, he expressed his opinion and supported it. Such was also the case with social injustice suffered in the hands of Nigerian Police, which led to nationwide protest tagged #EndSARS.

He has expressed his supports for the causes wearing Tshirts under his car wear to show that he is not the type of person who will do something for the sake of doing it.

Speaking with Ziggosport before the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, Hamilton said he don doesn’t feel that he need to do anything but do it because he wants to do it.

Since whatever cause he supported didn’t affect his racing, and it was not a political issue, no one disturbed him.

Hamilton, who is closing on a seventh world title, having proved that he could quit the game, but he didn’t. This showed that his love for the sport is what keeps him going.

Such was the issue with legendary Michael Schumacher. After winning seven F1 titles, he decided to leave the game in 2006. However, he is not done naturally as the lure of racing was too strong to resist. It shows that F1 is pumping in his veins.

Now that he has come back for another stint, it will be interesting to see him compete against Hamilton. This is the kind of mentality seen in these super-successful drivers.

Hamilton has displayed champions mentality throughout his races despite being put under immense pressure by teammate Valtteri Bottas in qualifying.

Although Bottas has been on pole only four times in 13 races, he has always given Hamilton a run for his money whenever they are on the racing track, but the statistics suggested otherwise.

The Briton has been edging out his teammate by the barest of margins. Not satisfied by his success against his teammate the ever-demanding Hamilton said his races were not good enough as Botts was close to edging him out at most times.

With the belief that he has a certain amount of extra time in him, Hamilton is not giving up just yet.
